[Model Response]

One of the biggest issues when renting a house is the rent. In Korea, rent prices are extremely high, especially in larger cities. Plus, rent prices have been on the sharp rise in recent years. Due to this trend, people are having problems paying the rent. Some people get a loan to pay their rent. However, taking out a loan from the bank is not an easy job at all. Some people move to a smaller place to lower their rent. That's tough too, because their quality of life goes down. Some people move to other areas that have lower rent prices. All in all, the housing market is giving people a hard time.

 

[해석]

집을 빌릴 때 가장 큰 문제점 중 하나가 바로 집세이다. 한국의 집세는 엄청나게 높다. 대도시 지역일수록 특히 그렇다. 더불어, 최근 몇 년 사이 집세가 가파른 상승세에 있다. 이러한 추세 때문에 사람들은 집세를 내는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 어떤 이들은 집세를 내기 위해서 대출을 받는다. 그러나 은행에서 대출을 받는 것은 결코 쉬운 일은 아니다. 어떤 사람들은 집세를 낮추기 위해 더 작은 집으로 이사를 한다. 삶의 질이 떨어지기 때문에 그것 또한 쉬운 일이 아니다. 어떤 사람들은 집세를 낮추기 위해서 다른 지역으로 이사를 가기도 한다. 전반적으로 주택 시장 때문에 여러 가지로 사람들이 힘들어하고 있다.

삶의 질 

영어에서 '삶의 질'을 의미하는 표현은 quality of life이다. 흔히 삶의 실이 좋아진다고 할 때는 get better, 나빠진다고 할 때는 get worse를 사용하여 표현한다.

 

예) The quality of life is getting better. (삶의 질이 점점 더 좋아지고 있다.)
The quality of life has gotten worse. (삶의 질이 더 나빠졌다.)
