<말하기 연습>
My daughter started college this year, and she has a special talent. She can identify the exact pitch of any sound. It's what people call perfect pitch. When singers play pitch matching games on TV shows, she gets every note right without missing a beat.
올해 대학생이 된 딸은 조금 특별한 재능이 있다. 바로 세상의 모든 소리를 음으로 찾아내는 능력, 소위 말하는 절대 음감이다. TV 예능에서 가수들이 음을 맞히는 게임을 할 때, 딸은 한 치의 오차도 없이 다 맞혔다.

Even if I press several keys all at once on the piano, she can hear and name them all. She can even hear everyday sounds like the clink of dishes or the sound of glasses tapping and recreate them on the piano. Thanks to this skill, she can play both piano and guitar just by listening, without any need for sheet music.
내가 피아노로 여러 음을 동시에 눌러도 듣고 다 알아낸다. 그릇에서 나는 소리나 유리잔 부딪치는 소리같은 일상의 소리까지도 듣고 피아노 건반으로 표현할 수 있다. 이런 능력 덕분에 악보 없이 소리만 듣고 피아노와 기타를 연주할 수 있다.

Whenever my husband and I request a song we like, she listens for a moment and then plays it on the spot. It feels like having a mini concert right at home. These days, she's in a college band club and leads the guitar training sessions. Even though she is self-taught, she's performing and even taking on a leadership role. I'm so proud of her.
