<말하기 연습>
Of all the different types of kimchi, I especially love geotjeori, or fresh, unfermented kimchi. One day, I had a craving for fresh kimchi, so I bought some cabbage to make it. But the cabbage wasn't fresh, so I had to get rid of it all. Feeling upset, I called my mom and told her all about it.
저는 여러가지 김치 중에서도 특히 겉절이를 매우 좋아합니다. 어느 날 겉절이 김치가 너무 먹고 싶어서 만들어 보려고 배추를 샀지만, 배추가 싱싱하지 않아서 전부 버릴 수 밖에 없었습니다. 속상해서 엄마와 통화하면서 이 사실을 말했습니다.

The next day, as I was about to have breakfast, the doorbell rang unexpectedly. I went to check who it was, and my mom was standing there. She had made frech kimchi and come secretly to surprise me with it. It was a two-hour bus trip by public transportation, but she had come all this way in the morning, just for her daughter.
다음 날, 아침 식사를 하려는데 별안간 현관문 초인종 소리가 울렸습니다. 누구인지 확인해 보려고 가 보니 엄마가 서 계셨습니다. 생김치를 만들어서 저를 놀라게 하려고 몰래 찾아오신 것 이었습니다. 대중교통으로 2시간이나 걸리는 거리인데, 딸을 위해 아침부터 이렇게 먼 길을 오신 것이었습니다.

Watching my mom take the bus back home, tears welled up in my eyes. A mother's love for her child truly has no limits. That day, I vowed to be even better to my mom.
다시 버스를 타고 집으로 돌아가는 엄마를 보며 눈물이 났습니다. 자식을 향한 엄마의 사랑은 정말 무한한 것 같습니다. 저도 엄마에게 더욱 잘해야 겠다고 다짐하는 하루였습니다.
