개를 키우면서 겪은 일.

<말하기 연습>
I moved to the countryside about ten years ago and have been raising two dogs. I enclosed the yard on all sides with a fence for large dogs, and built a roof so that the dogs could live there. I also created a playground on the side. They frequently come and go, running around and playing. In the summer, they take naps or rest in the shade of the trees.
저는 10여 년 전에 시골로 이사해서 개 두 마리를 키우고 있습니다. 대형견용 울타리로 마당을 사방으로 두르고 지붕을 만들어 개들이 그 안에서 생활하게 하였습니다. 옆으로 놀이터를 만들어 주었더니, 수시로 드나들며 뛰어 봅니다. 여름에는 나무 그늘에서 낮잠을 자거나 쉬기도 합니다.

But then, something terrible happened. The dogs managed to escape. They ran at full speed toward the back hill. Our mixed-breed dog, Jjanggu, returned after a while and went back into the house all on his own. But our Jindo, Bau, hesitated for a long time right in front of the door before eventually turning away. He even passed up the meat I left for him in his bowl.
그런데 끔찍한 사고가 나고 말았습니다. 개들이 탈출을 한 것이지요. 전속력으로 뒷산으로 달아나 버렸습니다. 얼마 후 믹스견인 짱구는 돌아와 스스로 집으로 들어갔지만, 진돗개인 바우는 문 바로 앞에서 한참을 망성이다 결국 발길을 돌리더군요. 개 밥그릇에 고기를 놓아두었는데도 그걸 떨쳐 버렸습니다.

After struggling for five days to catch him, we finally managed to capture Bau safely with the help of the local animal shelter and brought him home safe and sound.
5일 동안이나 잡으려고 씨름을 한 끝에, 지역 유기견 센터의 도움을 받아 안전하게 바우를 잡았고 무사히 집으로 데리고 올 수 있었습니다.
