A: No, it's my first time. I'm a bit nervous.
B: Don't worry, it's a common feeling. Perms can take a bit of time, so just sit back and relax while we work our magic.

B: 걱정마세요, 그건 흔한 감정이에요. 파마는 시간이 좀 걸리니까, 편안히 뒤로 기대앉아서 저희가 마법을 부리는 동안 좀 쉬세요.

Migratory birds. 철새.

<말하기 연습>
When spring is in the air, swallows fly in from the south. Birds like whooper swans also migrate with the seasons, and these birds are called "migratory birds." Birds  that don't stay in one place, just stopping by and passing through, are known as "nomadic birds."
봄철이 되면 남쪽에서 제비가 날아온다. 큰고니 등도 철에 따라 이동하는데, 이 조류를 "철새"라고 부른다. 한곳에 머무르지 않고, 그냥 잠시 들렀다가 지나가는 새는 "나그네 새"라고 한다.

The reason migratory birds don't say in one place is that they need food in order to build nests, lay eggs, and raise their young. If too many birds are in the same area, competition heats up to survive. So, the birds migrate to avoid conflict and live peacefully.
철새가 한곳에 머무르지 않는 이유는 둥지를 들고, 알을 낳고, 새끼를 키우기 위해서는 먹이가 필요하기 때문이다. 너무 많은 새가 같은 곳에 있으면 생존 경쟁이 치열해진다. 그래서 새들은 갈등을 피하고 평화롭게 살기 위해 이동하는 것이다.

However, migratory birds nowadays are facing a great crisis. It's because of human activity, developing forests, filling rivers, and constructing huge building. Birds had been flying and migrating through the skies long before humans came into existence. I hope for a world where we can coexist peacefully with the birds.
그런데, 요즘 철새들이 큰 위기에 처해 있다. 숲을 개발하고, 강을 메우고, 거대한 빌딩을 짓는 인간들의 행동 때문이다. 사람이 지구상에 태어나기 훨씬 전부터 철새는 하늘을 날아 이동했다.

B: 아이고, 그러면 새들이 보금자리를 잃겠네요.
A: 그래서 환경 단체들이 반대 운동을 하고 있어요.
B: 아, 그렇군요.
A: 개발도 중요하지만, 철새들을 위한 배려도 필요해요.
B: 적절한 해결책을 찾으면 좋겠네요.
