The apartment I live in is almost 40 years old. I had a lot of concerns before moving in because I had never lived in such an old apartment building before.
제가 살고 있는 아파트는 거의 40년이 다 되어 갑니다. 이렇게 연식이 오래된 아파트에 살아 본 적이 없어서 이사 들어오기 전에 걱정을 많이 했습니다.

About a year after we moved in, my family had to relocate overseas, leaving the apartment vacant for about a year. When I returned to Korea and entered the house, I found that the ceiling and walls of one of the rooms had water stains.
이사하고 1년쯤 후, 가족이 해외 거주를 하게 되어 집을 1년 정도 비워두게 되었습니다. 한국에 돌아와 집에 들어가 보니 방 하나의 천장과 벽에 얼룩이 생긴 것을 발견하였습니다

Thankfully, our upstairs neighbors immediately contacted a company that specializes in leak repairs. The company identified the problem: some of the bathroom waterproofing upstairs had cracked. Our neighbors offered to have it fixed, as well as redo the walls in our apartment.
다행히, 윗집에서 누수 수리 전문 업체에 바로 연락을 했습니다. 업체에서 윗집 화장실 방수처리 부분이 일부 깨진 것이 문제인 것 같다고 했습니다. 윗집에서 그곳을 수리하고 저희 집 도배도 새로해 주겠다고 했습니다.

We were worried that there might be issues with the repairs or compensation. But we were very grateful for the prompt response from our neighbors in the apartment above.
저희는 수리나 보상이 제대로 되지 않을까 걱정하였는데, 윗집에서 신속히 대응해 주셔서 너무 감사하게 생각했습니다.
