<말하기 연습>
I have various social gatherings in my life. All the people there are important to me, but there are a few who especially brighten up my day when I meet them. Our kids are around the same age, so we do meet together sometimes. But nowadays, we mainly spend time just among us, and it's truly a healing experience.
나에게는 여러 사적인 모임이 있다. 다들 소중하 사람들이지만, 만나면 특히 행복해지는 이들이 몇 명 있다. 아이들 나이도 비슷해서 가끔 같이 만나기도 하지만, 요즘은 주로 우리끼리 만나 그야말로 힐링이 되는 시간을 보낸다.

I thought about what makes them different, and I think it's because we talk about "ourselves" rather than discussing other people. Everyone is very empathetic towards each other. One friend in paticular asks good questions. Another friend majored in counseling, so she can get a read on things that never occurred to us. Our youngest firend loves learning, which gives us motivation.
뭐가 다를까 생각을 해 봤더니, 다른 사람들 얘기를 하는 것이 아니라 "우리 자신"의 얘기를 하기 때문인 것 같다. 다들 서로에게 공감을 무척 잘해주며, 특히 한 친구는 질문을 잘한다. 또 한 친구는 상담을 전공해서 우리가 생각지 못한 부분들도 잘 읽어 낸다. 가장 어린 친구는 배우는 것을 정말 좋아해서 우리에게 자극을 준다.

Through our conversations, I can reflect on aspects of myself that I didn't know. The comfort and encouragement I receive warms my heart. Despite being younger than me, I have a lot to learn from my friends. I hope these precious relationships last for a long, long time.
얘기를 주고받다 보면 나도 몰랐던 모습들을 성찰하게 되고, 내가 받는 위로와 격려로 마음이 따뜻해 진다. 나보다 어린 동생들이지만 오리혀 내가 그 친구들에게서 배우는 점이 많다. 이 소중한 인연이 오래오래 이어지기를 바란다.
