색약에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

My husband is color-blind. He has difficulty distinguishing between the colors red and green. About 5.9% of the male population in our country is born with congenital color blindness, so it doesn't seem like a very unusaual condition.
제 남편은 색약을 가진 사람입니다. 남편은 빨간색과 녹색을 잘 구분하지 못합니다. 우리나라의 남성 인구 중 약 5.9퍼센트가 선천적으로 색약을 가지고 태어난다고 하니, 색약이 아주 특이한 증상은 아닌 것 같습니다.

I asked my husband what it's like to live with color-blindness. He said, "I don't think it's a major inconvenience. I just can't tell when you're wearing makeup, and I don'really feel moved when I see leaves in the autumn." Even so, he gets really frustrated when he con't solve a computer game because he can't differentiate colors.
저는 남편에게 색약을 갖고 사는 것은 어떤 삶인지 물어보았습니다. 남편은 "크게 불편한 건 모르겠어. 단지 당신이 화장한 걸 알아채지 못하고, 가을에 단풍을 봐도 아무런 감흥이 없다는 거야."라고 말해 주었습니다. 하지만 남편도 색깔 구분이 되지 않아서 컴퓨터 게임이 잘 안 풀릴 때는 무척 속상해 합니다.

I've heard that glasses for color blindness have been newly developed lately. Given the chance, I would like to give my gusband those glasses as a gift. It would be great if he could someday experience the richness of colors that he's been missing out on.
최근에 색약을 위한 안경이 새롭게 개발되었다고 합니다. 기회가 된다면 남편에게 그 안경을 선물해 주고 싶습니다. 그동안 누리지 못한 색깔의 풍요로움을 남편이 언젠가 경험할 수 있다면 좋겠습니다.
