보건증 발급받기.

I was told I need a health certificate to do volunteer work monitoring the cafeteria at my children's school. So, I had one issued for the first time in my life. The health center at the local government office is in charge of issuing health certificates.
아이들 학교에서 급식 모니터링 봉사를 하기 위해서는 보건증이 필요하다고 하여, 나는 생애 처음으로 보건증을 발급받았다. 보건증 발급 업무는 해당 지자체의 보건소에서 관할하고 있다.

When you arrive at the health center, you fill out a request form. Then, you go to the X-ray room to take X-rays and move on to the check-up room. You have to be prepared for a bit of a hassle in the check-up room.
보건소에 도착하면 신청서를 작성한다. 그 다음에 방사선실로 가서 엑스레이 촬영을 하고 검사실로 가면 된다. 검사실에서 약간의 역경이 있는 점을 대비해야 한다.

There is a procedure to check for afflictions like contagious skin disease, typhoid fever, and bacterial dysentery. You take a long cotton swab and a cylinder to the bathroom, and you have to insert it to a depth of about 3 cm in your bottom.
전염성 피부 질환, 장티푸스, 세균성이질 같은 질병을 검사하기 위한 절차가 있다. 긴 면봉과 실린더를 들고 화장실에 가서 항문에 약 3센티미터 정도 깊이로 찔러 넣어야 한다.

Doing this once was more than enough. Thankfully, the entire prcess took less than 20 minutes, all told. After the check-up, if everything is shipshape, you can receive your health certificate from the local government office 5 days later.
이건 두 번 다시는 하고 싶지 않은 경험이었다. 다행히 이 모든 과정은 다 해서 20분도 채 걸리지 않았다. 검사를 마치고 아무런 문제가 없으면 5일 후 관내 구청에서 보건증을 받을 수 있다.
