Taekwondo Level Promotion Exam.
태권도 승품 심사.

Our son has been attending a taekwondo studio for the past two years. This August, he took a level promotion exam for the first time. Passing the exam qualifies an applicant as a first-poom level. They can then try to advance to a higher level after a certain training period.
저희 아들은 2년 전부터 태권도 도장에 다녔습니다. 올해 8월, 처음으로 승품 심사에 응시하게 되었습니다. 응시자가 승품 심사에 합격하면 1품의 자격을 얻고, 이후 일정 수련 기간을 거쳐 더 높은 단계로의 승급에 도전할 수 있습니다.

Our son prepped for the exam by mastering precise taekwondo movements. He also practiced kicking and prepated for sparring matches. He did stretching exercises like the splits every day to increase his flexibility. The stretching motions were so painful that they brought him to tears and stressed out. He had to go number one often, and had skin irritation symptoms. Even so, we encouraged him not to give up.
아들은 정확한 태권도 동작을 익히면서 심사 준비를 했습니다. 발차기 연습도 했고 상대와 겨루기 시합도 준비했습니다. 더불어, 유연성을 기르기 위해 매일 다리 찢기와 같은 스트레칭 운동도 했습니다. 아이는 스트레칭 동작이 너무 아프다며 울기도 했고 심한 스트레스도 받았습니다. 빈뇨 증상과 피부염 증상도 보였지만, 그래도 우리는 아이가 포기하지 않도록 격려해 주었습니다.

I experienced a range of emotions during the exam process. I even welled up at times. Thankfully our son sucessfully passed the exam and received kudos for being the most improved trainee.
저는 심사 과정을 지켜보는 동안 여러 감정들이 교차하며 갑자기 눈물이 핑 돌기도 했습니다. 다행히, 아이는 무사히 심사를 통과했고 가장 일취월장한 수련생이라는 칭찬도 받았습니다.
