I am a banker with 12 years of experience. Recently, an increasing number of parents are opening bank accounts for their underage children. When I first started work in 2010, the parent's ID, proof of family relationship, and a personal seal were the only requirements to open an account.
나는 12년 차 은행원이다. 최근에 미성년자 자녀에게 은행 계좌를 개설해 주는 부모들이 늘고 있다. 내가 입사했던 2010년도에는 부모님의 신분증과 가족 관계 증명서, 그리고 도장만 있으면 계좌 개설이 가능했다.

However, with more stingent enforcement of Customer Due Diligence(CDD), the documents submitted to the banks have become more complex. A resident registration certificate and the child's seal are now required. Also, additional documents might be needed to sign up for internet banking.
하지만 고객 확인 의무 제도(CDD, Customer Due Diligence)가 더 강화되면서 은행에 제출해야 하는 서류가 더욱 복잡해졌다. 이제는 주민 등록 초본과 아이의 도장이 있어야 하며, 인터넷 뱅킹에 가입까지 하려면 추가 서류가 필요한 경우도 있다.

I can relate to the parents' wish to do what's best for their beloved children, opening accounts despite all the complicated paperwork. It makes me want to be as helpful as possible in assisting them. I hope that measures will be put into place soon to simplify the paperwork and reduce financial accidents.
이렇게 서류 절차가 복잡한데도 계좌를 만들어 주며 사랑하는 아이를 위해 최선을 다하고 싶은 부모의 마음이 느껴진다. 그래서 나도 최대한 도움을 드려 개설해 드리고 싶어진다. 서류는 간소화되고 금융 사고는 줄일 수 있는 제도가 하루 빨리 마련되었으면 좋겠다.
