딸에게 해 주는 잠자리 책 읽기.
I have a 10-year old daughter and a 16-year old son. We have had many good, shared experiences with our oldest child, we tried to share them with our youngest as well. Among these, reading together before bedtime is something we still do on a daily basis.
나에게는 10살 딸과 16살 아들이 있다. 큰 아이와 함께했던 좋은 경험들을 둘째와도 같이 하려고 했다. 그중에서 잠자리 책 읽기는 아직도 매일 빼먹지 않고 하고 있는 것이다.
As with any parent, bedtime stories begin with picture books and fairly tales. I was the same. By now, my kids are well past the age where they can read on their own. But we still read together, choosing classic novels that are huge tomes spanning hundreds of pages.
모든 부모들이 그렇듯이 잠자리 책 읽기는 그림책과 동화책부터 시작한다. 나도 그랬다. 지금은 아이가 혼자 책을 읽을 수 있는 나이를 훨씬 넘었지만, 우리는 몇 백 페이지가 넘는 두꺼운 명작 소설들을 골라 아직도 책 읽기를 함께하고 있다.
Thanks to my daughter, I am reading classics that I never got around to when I was young. I am rediscovering the joy of reading these complete translations. As an adult, it feels wonderful to immerse myself in these works. I hope to continue reading together at bedtime even after my daughter begins middle school.
딸아이 덕분에 나는 어릴 적에 미처 읽지 못했던 명작들을 읽고 있으며, 완역 읽기의 즐거움을 재발견하고 있다. 어른이 된 지금, 이 작품들을 온전히 느끼고 있어서 너무 좋다. 나는 딸이 중학생이 되어도 잠자리 책 읽기를 계속하고 싶다.
