Right Turns at Crosswalks.
In Korea, drivers didn't have to come to a complete stop before making a right turn at a pedestrian crossing. They could just reduce their speed, as long as there were no pedestrians. But in January 2022, this law was revised.
Now, whenever a driver comes to a crosswalk, they must stop completely, regardless of whether anyone is crossing. It's okay to take a right if the crosswalk signal is red, but the driver must first stop if anyone is waiting to cross. If anyone breaks this rule, they can get a ticket during a crosswalk right-turn crackdown.
A driver becomes a pedestrian, too, whenever they aren't at the wheel. I hope all drivers will obey traffic signals and comply with traffic laws. They should think of it as protecting their own families. That way, we can create a society where heartbreaking traffic accidents are a thing of the past.
횡단보도 우회전.
우리나라에서는 운전자들이 횡당보도에서 완전히 정지하지 않고도 우회전할 수 있었습니다. 보행자가 없는 한 속도만 줄이면 됐습니다. 그러나 2022년 1월부터는 이 도로 교통법이 개정되었습니다.
이제는 운전자가 횡단보도를 마주할 때마다, 건너는 사람이 있든 없든 일시 정지를 해야 합니다. 횡단보도 신호가 적색일 때 우회전이 가능하지만, 보행자가 길을 건너려고 대기하고 있을 경우에는 반드시 일시 정지를 해야 합니다. 이 규칙을 어긴다면 횡단보도 위회전 단속에 걸릴 수 있습니다.
운전자도 차에서 내리면 보행자입니다. 모든 운전자들이 내 가족을 보호한다는 생각으로 신호 위반을 하지 않고 교통 법규를 잘 지켰으면 좋겠습니다. 그렇게 하면 마음 아픈 교통사고들이 더 이상 없는 사회를 만들 수 있을 것입니다.
