Bycycle Sharing Services.
Talk about bicycle sharing services.
Certain area in Korea operate bicycle sharing services. They were put into place to help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution. They also make it easier for citizens to get around. In Seoul, where I live, there is a bicycle sharing service called Ddareungi. Anyone in Seoul can borrow a bike by installing an app called Ddareungi on their phone.
I commute by bike using this service. It's dirt cheap, too. I only need to pay 15,000won to use the bikes for six months, an hour a day. It was a bit inconvenient at first, since the bikes were hard to come by, as were the bike rack facilities. But nowadays, the service is a breeze because the number of bicycles and bike racks has shot up.
I think that using bicycles to travel short distances this way will do wonders for both protecting the environment and boosting one's health.
한국의 몇몇 지역에서는 공공 자전거 서비스를 운영하고 있다. 교통 체증과 대기 오염을 해소하기 위해 도입되었고, 게다가 시민들이 더 편리하게 이동할 수 있게 해 준다. 내가 살고 있는 서울에는 "따릉이"라는 이름의 공공 자전거 서비스가 있다. 휴대폰에 "따릉이" 앱을 설치하면 서울 안에서는 누구나 자전거를 빌려 탈 수 있다.
나는 이 서비스를 이용해 자전거로 출퇴근을 하고 있는데, 무척 저렴하다. 하루에 한 시간씩 6개월 동안 이용하는 데 15,000원만 내면 된다. 초반에는 자전거도 많지 않고 거치대 시설도 적어서 조금 불편했다. 그러나 요즘에는 자전거와 거치대의 수가 많이 늘어서 매우 편리하다.
이렇게 가까운 거리를 이동하기 위해 자전거를 이용한다면 환경 보호와 건강 증진에 크게 도움이 되지 않을까 싶다.
