B: Yes, but I'll be happy to be with my grand children, too.
A: I'm jealous. I wish I could see my grandkids every day.
B: Well, we'll see what it's like.
A: 그럼 주말에만 여기 계세요?
B: 그래야 할 것 같아요. 딸에게는 아이를 봐줄 사람이 아무도 없거든요.
A: 일이 너무 많을 것 같은데요.
B: 네, 하지만 손주들이랑 있으면 행복하기도 할 거예요.
A: 부럽네요. 저도 손주들을 매일 봤으면 좋겠어요.
B: 글쎄요, 그게 어떨지는 한번 봐야겠죠.
Level 3. 입트영.
Learning English at an advanced age.
As a 64-year-old man, I get out of bed at 5:30 every monring. Then, I turn on the radio to study English. When I hear the welcome voices of the teachers, I pay close attention to what they're teaching. But I can only go so far. I can wrap my head around the content, but it's hard to memorize words.
Still, I take great pleasure in making sentences with the day's key expressions. I feel proud of myself when I upload the sentences onto "Band," a kind of online community. I am very happy to get the day started by studying English every morning.
It's a hobby that doesn't cost a cent, and a great opportunity to reevaluate what I am capable of. My mornings spent studying English with EBS radio will continue, until the day I become a fluent English spearker and I can donate my talent.
나는 64세의 남자로서 매일 아침 5시 30분에 일어납니다. 그리고 나서 영어 공부를 하기 위해 라디오를 켭니다. 선생님들의 반가운 목소리가 들리면 나는 그들의 가르침에 집중합니다. 그러나 한계가 있습니다. 내용이 이해는 되지만 단어를 외우는 것이 어렵습니다.
그래도 그날의 핵심 표현으로 문장을 만드는 것이 무척 즐겁습니다. 그 문장들을 온라인 커뮤니티의 일종인 "밴드"에 올리고 나면 뿌듯합니다. 매일 아침 영어 공부를 하면서 하루를 시작하는 것이 참 행복합니다.
비용이 들지 않는 취미 생활이자, 나의 능력을 재 점검하는 아주 좋은 기회이기도 합니다. EBS 라디오와 함께 영어 공부하며 보내는 나의 아침은 영어 능력자가 되어 재능 기부를 할 수 있는 그날까지 계속될 것입니다.
