Keeping a household ledger.
This year, I started keeping a household ledger and updating it on a daily basis. My goal at first wasn't to balance the ledger perfectly, but simply to update it every day. Even so, doing it on the daily wasn't easy.
The biggest advantage to keeping a ledger is that I can put a number on how much I am spending, and where. By reviewing the records, I can identify unnecessary expenditures. In my case, I was able to cancel subscriptions that I wasn't using much, as well as cut down on my phone bill and insurance policies.
I usually update my ledger while I wind down for the day. It really gives me a kick when I have nothing to write because I didn't spend anything. I want to spend my hard-earned money wisely, in a meaningful way. That's why I plan to keep updating my ledger.
나는 올해부터 가계부를 쓰기 시작했고 매일 가계부를 기록하고 있다. 처음에는 가계부를 완벽하게 결산하기보다는 일단 매일 기록하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 매일 같이 쓰는 일은 쉽지 않았다.
가계부를 쓰는 가장 큰 장점은 내가 어디에 얼마를 소비하고 있는지 수치로 정확히 파악 할 수 있다는 것이다. 기록한 내용을 돌아보면서, 불필요한 지출은 없었는지 확인해 볼 수도 있다. 나의 경우, 많이 이용하지 않는 구독 서비스를 해지하고, 통신비와 보험료 등을 줄일 수 있었다.
나는 주로 하루를 마무리하며 가계부를 쓴다. 돈 쓴 일이 없어서 작성할 내용이 아무것도 없는 날에는 괘감을 느끼기도 한다. 나는 힘들게 번 돈을 현명하고 가치 있게 지출하고 싶다ㅏ. 그래서 앞으로도 계속 가계부를 쓸 계획이다.
