[Response]

The coronavirus has infected tens of millions of people worldwide. The virus is deadly to humans and is not to be taken lightly. Ironically, however, it actually has had positive effects on the earth and its natural environment.

For example, with many factories in China being shut down due to the virus this year, Korea got a break from the fine dust originating from China. In the past, the fine dust every spring and summer used to be a walking nightmare. This year, we were able to enjoy some fresh air. This improvement in air quality was observed all over the world. Many famous tourist attractions had far fewer visitors, and nature was given a chance to recover.

However, there was a trade-off. with more people staying at home, there was explosive growth in food delivery and online shopping. The amount of disposable goods used this year spiked, becoming a new problem.

코로나바이러스는 전 세계적으로 수천만 명의 감염자를 낳았다. 이 바이러스는 사람들에게 치명적이어서 결코 가볍게 여길 만한 문제가 아니다. 하지만 역설적이게도 지구와 자연환경에는 긍정적인 효과를 가져왔다.

예를 들어, 올해 코로나바이러스의 여파로 중국에 있는 많은 공장들의 기동이 중단되면서, 우리 나라는 중국에서 불어오는 미세먼지의 피해로부터 자유로울 수 있었다. 그 전에는 매년 봄과 여름에 미세먼지로 심하게 고통받았었는데, 올해는 정말 맑은 공기를 만끽할 수 있었다. 이러한 대기질의 개선은 전 세계에서 확연하게 목격되었다. 수많은 유명 관광지들은 방문객의 발길이 끊기게 되어, 자연이 본래의 모습을 회복하는 기회가 되었다.

하지만, 반대급부도 있었다. 집에서 생활하는 사람들이 더 많아지다 보니 배달 음식과 온라인 쇼핑이 폭발적으로 증가했다. 그래서 올해 일회용품 사용이 매우 급증하여, 새로운 문제로 떠오르고 있다.
