<말하기 연습>
My dad is good with his hands. He can fix broken toys in no time. He even repaired his old vacuum cleaner and still uses it. A few times, he picked up items from the recycling center, cleaned them up without telling my mom, and put them to use. That sometimes caused arguments between them.
우리 아빠는 손재주가 참 좋으시다. 고장 난 장난감도 뚝딱 고쳐 주신다. 오래된 진공청소기도 고쳐서 계속 쓰고 계신다. 재활용품장에 버려진 물품도 가지고 오셔서 엄마 몰래 닦아서 사용하신 적도 여러 번 있다. 그게 때로는 엄마와 다투는 원인이 되기도 한다.

I'm grateful that I've learned the value of taking care of things. Since my dad rarely throws anything away and collects anything he thinks is still useful, his room is turning into a warehouse of odds and ends.
물건을 아끼는 마음을 배울 수 있어서 나는 참 좋다. 물건을 잘 안 버리시고 아직 쓸 만한 건 다 가져다 놓으시니, 아빠의 방은 점점 더 만물 창고가 되어 가고 있다.

Whenever his grandkids bring him something to fix, he puts on his reading glasses and gets to work. It gets me every time. I think in their memories, Grandpa will be remembered as a scientist who could fix anything.
손자 손녀가 뭐를 고쳐달라고 가져오면 돋보기 안경을 쓰고 열중해서 고쳐 주시는 모습에 매번 마음이 뭉클하다. 아이들의 추억 속에 할아버지는 뭐든 잘 고쳐 주시는 과학자로 기억될 것 같다.

B: 할머니께 허락만 받고 바로 나가자꾸나.
