독도 여행.

<말하기 연습>
In September 2019, my husband and I took a trip to Dokdo. We were filled with anticipation as we boarded a ferry headed for Ulleungdo from the Pohang passenger terminal.
2019년 9월, 우리 부부는 독도 여행을 갔다. 설레는 마음을 안고 포항 여객선 터미널에서 울릉도로 향하는 배에 몸을 실었다.

As soon as we departed, the waves were so high that the boat rocked nonstop. A lot of people got seasick. It took more than four hours to finally reach Ulleungdo, which was way longer than scheduled. Then we had to transfer to another boat to Dokdo, which took another hour and a half.
배가 출발하자마자 파도가 아주 높아지고 배가 계속 출렁거려 멀미를 하는 사람들이 많았다. 예상 시간을 훨씬 초과하여 네 시간이 넘게 걸려 마침내 울릉도에 도착했다. 그리고 독도로 가는 배를 갈아타고 1시간 30분을 또 가야했다.

Since Dokdo doesn't have a dock, we were told we couldn't land if the waves are too rough. Thankfully, the waves suddenly calmed down and we were allowed to land. I felt a lump in my throat when I saw the soldiers stationed on Docko.
독도는 선착장이 따로 없어서 파도가 너무 높으면 접안을 할 수 없다고 했다. 다행히 근처에 도착할 때쯤 갑자기 파도가 잠잠해져서 다행히 입도할 수 있었다. 독도 수비대 군인들을 본 순간 나는 울컥 목이 메었다.

A: 다섯 번 갔는데 날씨가 안 좋아서 한 번도 못 들어가신 분도 있더라고요.
B: 그러니까요. 한 번에 성공해서 참 운이 좋았어요.
