My Husband's Job

<말하기 연습>
My husband has been driving a 1-ton truck for two years now, delivering all sorts of goods through an app. Recently, he was introduced to a job clearing snow. Our truck is equipped with calcium chloride and snow-clearing equipment. From November to March, it is stationed at city hall.
제 남편은 1톤 트럭으로 화물 일을 한 지 2년 됐어요. 앱으로 일을 받아서 여러 종류의 물건들을 운송해요. 얼마 전에 눈을 치우는 제설 작업 일을 소개받았어요. 저희 트럭에는 염화 칼슘과 제설용 장비가 갖춰져 있고, 11월부터 3월까지는 시청에 가있어요.

An emergency alert system kicks in three hours before snow is expected. When it starts snowing, 15-ton dump trucks head out, clearing away the snow with big plows attached to the front while spreading calcium chloride. My husband drives his 1-ton truck through the side streets, spreading calcium chloride until it stops snowing.
눈이 오기 3시간 전에 비상 연락망이 가동됩니다. 눈이 오기 시작하면, 15톤 덤프트럭이 출동해서 앞에 달린 큰 삽으로 눈을 치우며 염화 칼슘을 뿌리고 다녀요. 남편은 골목길에서 1톤 트럭을 몰 며 눈이 그칠 때까지 염화 칼슘을 뿌려요.

Since the job is snow removal, he only works on days when it actually snows. On days when it doesn't snow, he's completely at ease. I am amazed that there are people out doing this kind of work.
직업이 제설 작업이기에 실제로 눈이 오는 날에만 일을 합니다. 눈이 안 오는 날에는 완전 유유자적이고요. 세상에 이런 일을 하는 사람도 있구나 싶어요.
