The Problem with Golf Courses.
골프장의 문제점.

Golf has gained popularity recently, becoming a common hobby among people my age. However, golf courses have a significant impact on our environment.
최근에 골프의 인기가 많아지면서, 골프는 제 동년배들 사이에서 심심찮게 보이는 취미가 되었습니다. 그러나 골프장이 우리 환경에 끼치는 영향도 만만치 않습니다.

One of the biggest issues with golf courses is that they waste water. A gingle golf course consumes about 1,000 tons of water per day. Based on the number of golf holes in the country as of 2020, this amounts to nearly 450,000 tons of water every day. It's a staggering amount of water used solely for the purpose of maintainning golf courses.
골프장의 가장 큰 문제 중 하나는 물 낭비입니다. 골프장 하나는 하루에 대략 1천 톤의 물을 소비한다고 합니다. 2020년 기준, 국내 골프장 홀 수로 환산 시 매일 45만 톤에 가까운 물을 소비하는 것입니다. 단지 골프장을 유지하는 데만 어마어마한 양의 물이 들어가고 있는 것입니다.

The second issue is environmental pollution and destruction. Golf courses use various pesticides to maintian the greens. The amount used is increasing even more becuase of extreme weather events. Plus, building golf courses leads to deforestation, and the local wildlife loses its natural habitat. Areas that were once forests are turned into turf, exposing them to a higher risk of flooding.
두 번째 문제는 환경 오염과 환경 파괴입니다. 골프장은 그린 관리를 위해 다양한 농약을 사용합니다. 그리고 기상 이변으로 인해 그 사용량은 점점 더 늘어나고 있습니다. 또한, 골프장 건설로 인해 산림이 파괴되고, 인근 야생 동식물도 서식지를 잃게 됩니다. 숲이었던 공간들이 잔디로 변하며, 홍수의 위험에 더 많이 노출되기도 합니다.
