<말하기 연습>
On my way to work one day in the summer of 2019, I suddenly felt a stinging sensation in my stomach as I was about to board the subway. I was so started that I instinctively brushed at my stomach. On the floor, I saw a wasp about the size of a finger. I immediately broke into a cold sweat.
2019년 여름 어느 날 출근하던 도중, 지하철을 타려고 하는 순간 갑자기 배가 따끔한 느낌이 들었다. 너무 놀라서 나도 모르게 배 주위를 털었다. 바닥을 보니 손가락 만한 말벌이 있었다. 순간 온몸에 식은땀이 나기 시작했다.

I had been stung by honeybees before, but this was my first encounter with a wasp. In that moment, my mind went blank. First, I called 119. Then I went to the subway station office, explained that I had been stung by a wasp, and waited for an ambulance. News stories about people who had died from wasp stings began to fill my mind, and I was gripped with fear.
전에 꿀벌에게는 여러 번 쏘인 적이 있었지만, 말벌은 이번이 처음이었다. 그 순간 아무 생각도 나지 않았다. 우선, 119에 전화를 했다. 그리고나서 역무원실로 가서 말벌에 쏘였다고 이야기 하고 구급차가 오기를 기다렸다. 말벌에 쏘여 죽은 사람들에 대한 뉴스 기사들이 떠오르며 두려움이 엄습해 왔다.

I was taken to the nearest emergency room in an ambulance. Although I've always been averse to injections, the five shots I received that day took a load off my chest. I felt so dizzy all morning that I decided to take a half-day off from work. Even now, whenever I hear a buzzing sound around me, I instinctively run away. Wasps are just too terrifying.
구급차를 타고 가장 가까운 응급실로 실려 갔다. 평소 주사를 너무 싫어하는데, 이날 맞았던 5방의 주사는 정말 천군맘마처럼 느껴졌다. 오전 내내 너무 어지러워서 반차를 쓰고 퇴근했다. 지금도 주위에서 윙윙거리는 소리가 들리면 나는 본능적으로 도망을 친다. 말벌이 너무나 무섭다.

A: 역무원실에서 기다리고 있을게요.
B: 혹시 호흡 곤란이나 알레르기 증상이 생기면 바로 알려 주세요.
