<말하기 연습>
Musicals are a comprehensive art form that blends together acting, dancing, and singing. I wasn't particularly interested in musicals in the past. However, I ended up participating in a musical for a company talent show as a new recruit. That's when I really fell for its charm. As soon as the event was over, I joined an amateur theater group.
뮤지컬은 연기, 춤, 노래를 조화롭게 합쳐 놓은 종합 예술이다. 나는 예전에는 뮤지컬에 크게 관심이 없었다. 하지만 신입 사원 시절에 회사 장기 자랑을 위해 어쩌다 뮤지컬 공연을 하게 되었고, 그때부터 그 매력에 푹 빠지게 되었다. 그래서 나는 행사가 끝나자마자 한 아마추어 극단에 들어갔다.

The group consisted of ordinary joes like office workers and college students, but they all held a deep passion. We had to handle everything ourselves, from planning the performance to setting up the stage and controlling the lights and sound.
극단은 직장인과 대학생 등 일반인들로 구성되어 있었는데, 모두 열정이 대단했다. 우리는 공연 기획부터 무대 설치, 조명 및 음향 조절까지 모든 것을 스스로 해내야 했다.

We would practice tirelessly through the night to put on a show. Now, as a father of two children, I'm fully dedicated to parenting. But I enthusiastically read fairy tales to my kids as if I'm practicing for a performance. I hope that one day, I'll have the chance to invite kids to a show when I take the stage again.
우리는 밤새도록 쉬지 않고 연습해 가며 공연을 올리곤 했다. 지금은 두 아이의 아빠로서 육아에 전면하고 있지만, 마치 공연을 연습하듯 아이들에게 열정적으로 동화책을 읽어 주고 있다. 언젠가 내가 다시 오른 무대에 아이들을 초대할 기회가 왔으면 좋겠다.
