<말하기 연습>
My mom has long been a skilled seamstress. When I was a baby, she made clothes for us by hand. Not just articles of clothing like pants and T-shirts, but also wool hats and scarves. She is so good with her hands that she can make anything with a needle and thread.
우리 엄마는 오래전부터 손바느질 솜씨가 뛰어나셨다. 내가 아기였을 때 엄마는 손으로 직접 옷을 만들어서 우리에게 입히셨다고 한다. 바지나 티셔츠 등의 옷뿐만 아니라 털모자나 목도리 까지도 말이다. 엄마는 손재주가 아주 좋아서 실과 바늘만 있으면 못 만드는 게 없으시다.

Ever since my mom retired recently, she has had a lot of free time on her hands. So, she got back into making things like bags and hats for us. I carry the bag she made for me almost every day. It's so sturdy and adorable. It's especially precious to me because it's one of a kind.
최근에 엄나는 은퇴하시고 나서 여유 시간이 많아지셨다. 그래서 우리에게 가방이나 모자 등을 다시 만들어 주기 시작하셨다. 나는 엄마가 만들어 주신 가방을 거의 매일 메고 다닌다. 너무나 튼튼하고 세상 귀여울 수가 없다. 이건 정말 세상에 단 하나뿐인 가방이라 나에게 특히 소중하다.

My mom also says that she's glad to have found a special hobby in her retirement. Seeing me carry the bag around fills my mom with pride, too.
엄마 역시 은퇴 후 특별한 취미 생활이 생겨서 행복하다고 말씀하신다. 내가 그 가방을 메고 다니는 모습을 보면 엄마도 너무나 뿌듯해하신다.
