Friends with Developmental Disabilities. 발달 장애가 있는 친구.

<말하기 연습>
When I was in kindergarten, there was a friend with a developmental disability. That friend couldn't speak well and had difficulty understanding what others were saying. It always got me down that that friend couldn't easily play and interact with the others.
제가 유치원을 다닐 때 발달 장애가 있는 친구가 있었습니다. 그 친구는 말을 잘하지 못했고, 다른 친구가 하는 말도 잘 알아듣지 못했습니다. 저는 그 친구가 다른 친구들과 잘 어울려 놀지 못해서 항상 마음이 안 좋았습니다.

However, I couldn't support that friend because I didn't know what to do. It has been several years since we parted ways, but sometimes I still think of that friend. I wonder if she entered elementary school without a hitch, and how she is doing now.
그런데 저는 어떻게 해야 할지 몰라서 그 친구를 도와주지 못했습니다. 헤어진 지 몇년이 지났지만, 가끔 그 친구가 생각납니다. 초등학교에 입학은 잘했는지, 지금 잘 지내고 있는지 궁금합니다.

If I cross paths with her again, I would like to take better care of her and to get along with her more. And if I encounter another friend with developmental disabilities at school, I want to be a good friend to them as well.
다시 만난다면 더 잘 챙겨 주고, 더 많이 어울려 놀고 싶습니다. 그리고 학교에서 발달 장애가 있는 친구를 또 만나게 된다면 그들에게도 좋은 친구가 되어 주고 싶습니다.

A: 아, 그렇군요.
B: 친구들과 잘 어울리지 못해서 마음이 아팠던 기억이 나요.
A: 우리 딸 반에도 그런 학생이 있어서 아이에게 그 친구를 잘 도와주라고 했어요.
B: 잘하셨네요.
