Back when I was in school, Gyeongju was one of the must-visit places for picnics and field trips. As an adult, I hesitated to visit the city as a vacation spot, so it had been almost 20 years since my last visit. I stepped out of the train station imagining how much things might have changed. The sight of traditional tiled roofs immediately filled my heart with excitement.
학창 시절에 경주는 소풍이나 수학여행 필수 코스 중 하나였다. 성인이 된 후로 휴가지로는 꺼려졌던 터라 마지막으로 방문한 지 거의 20년이 되었다. 얼마나 많이 바뀌었을지 상상하면서 기차역을 빠져나왔다. 바로 눈에 들어오는 전통 기와지붕들이 내 마음을 설레게 했다.

In the past, Gyeongju's top travel spots were its famous historical sites. Nowadays, the most bustling area is the downtown area of Gyeongju. Along the alley known as "Hwangridan-gil," there are numerous must-eat restaurants, trendy cafes, and photo-friendly spots. Many buildings designed in the style of traditional Korean hanok showcase Gyeonju's unique charm.
예전에는 경주의 주요 여행지는 유명한 역사 유적지였다. 지금은 사람들로 가장 많이 붐비는 곳은 경주 시내 중심지이다. "황리단길"이라고 부르는 골목을 따라 맛집과 현대적 감성의 카페, 사진 찍기 좋은 포토존이 밀집해 있다. 전통 한옥 형태로 지어진 건물들이 많아서 경주만의 이색적인 매력을 뽐내 준다.

As I wandered around downtown Gyeongju, every time I discovered a historical site, I wondered how people lived back then. It also made me curious about how Gyeongju's scenery would look in different seasons.
경주 시내를 돌아다니면서 역사적인 장소를 발견할 때마다 그 시절 사람들은 어떤 생활을 했을지 궁금했다. 그리고 다른 계절에는 경주의 경치가 어떨지도 궁금해졌다.
