A Harrowing Experience at a Baseball Stadium.
The two men in our household are diehard fans of baseball. Whenever the baseball season gets underway, father and son sing along to fight songs whenever they can. And, they visit the baseball stadium every other week.
My son says that when he attends a game with just his dad, their team's results end up poorly. But they always end up on top when mom comes along, so I have to go as well. To be honest, I am not interested in baseball at all. I just suck it up and go to the stadum for the family's sake.
But when I went to the stadium recently, I had a harrowing experience. A foul ball flew over to the bleachers, and it landed on my head. I got a gash on my head 3cm long. The stadium management led me to an ambulance. I had to go to the hospital to get stitches. Next time I visit, I think I'll wear a helmet!
야구장에서의 아찔한 경험.
우리 집의 두 남자는 열렬한 야구팬이다. 야구 시즌이 시작되면 아빠와 아들은 틈만 나면 응원가를 따라 부른다. 그리고 2주에 한 번 꼴로 야구장을 찾는다.
아들이 말하기를 야구장에 아빠와 단 둘이 가서 관람하면 경기 결과가 안 좋다고 한다. 그런데 엄마도 야구장에 함께 가면 경기 결과가 항상 좋기에 엄마도 꼭 가야 한다고 말한다. 솔직히 말하면, 나는 야구에 전혀 관심이 없다. 가족의 화목을 위해 그냥 참고 야구장에 갈 뿐이다.
그런데 얼마 전 야구장에 갔을 때 아찔한 경험을 했다. 파울볼이 관중석으로 날아왔는데, 그 공이 내 머리 위로 떨어졌다. 나는 머리가 3센티미터 찢어졌다. 야구장 운영진의 인솔에 따라 구급차를 탔고, 병원에 가서 상처를 꿰매야 했다. 다음번에 야구장을 찾는다면 헬멧을 꼭 써야겠다!
