Writing English in Cursive.
A few years ago, an American friend showed me a letter he received from his mother. But I couldn't read it, becasuse it had been written in cursive. After that incident, I started to take an interest in cursive writing. I set aside some time to practice writing English in cursive myself.
At first, I bought a handwriting book and did trace and write activities. After I got the hang of it, I tried selecting sentences I like and copying them in a notebook. I referred to various turorial videos online whenever I had a hard time connecting letters together.
After I learned to write in cursive, I made it a habit to put it to use whenever I practiced writing with "입트영." Nowadays, I have gotten quite used to cursive handwriting, and it has become second nature.
필기체로 영어 쓰기.
몇 년 전, 미국인 친구가 자신의 어머니한테 받은 편지를 나에게 보여 준 적이 있었다. 그런데 나는 그 편지를 읽을 수 없었다. 왜냐하면 편지가 필기체로 쓰여 있기 때문이었다. 그 일이 있은 후로 나는 필기체에 관심을 갖기 시작했다. 그리고 시간을 내어 직접 영어 필기체 쓰는 것을 연습했다.
처음에는 글씨 쓰기 책을 구입해서 따라 쓰기 활동을 했다. 어느 정도 익숙해지고 난 후에는 마음에 드는 문장을 골라 공책에 옮겨 써 보았다. 글자들을 연습하는 것이 어려울 때는 인터넷에 있는 다양한 가이드 영상을 참고하기도 했다.
이렇게 필기체로 쓰는 법을 익히고 나서 "입트영" 작문 연습을 할 때 사용하는 습관을 들였다. 요새는 영어 필기체에 제법 익숙해져서 자연스럽게 쓸 수 있게 되었다.
