How My Mom Saved My Life.
November holds a sepcial place in my heart because it's the month when I became a mom. It reminds me of my own mom. Having a child of my own really opened my eyes to how precious and loving my mother was.
A mom's heart breaks if her child catches even a common cold. But I had to undergo major surgery three times, when I was 8, 10 and 18 years old. I can't even imagine how it felt for my mom to go through all that. She cried so much that it impaired her vision in one eyes.
I'm actually amazed that I am so healthy, handicap-free and a mother of my own children. I think it's all thanks to my om and her constant, loving care that I am alive. I hope to become a good mother to my kids, just like my mom was to me.
11월은 제가 엄마가 된 달이라서 저에게 참 소중한 달입니다. 그래서 친정 엄마가 더 생각이 납니다. 아이를 낳으니 친정 엄마의 소중함과 사랑을 진정으로 깨닫게 되었습니다.
아이가 감기만 걸려도 엄마의 마음은 너무 아픕니다. 그런데 저는 8살, 10살, 18살 때 세 번의 큰 수술을 받아야 했습니다. 그 힘든 일을 겪으신 저희 엄마의 기부니 어땠을지 상상조차 할 수 없습니다. 엄마는 하도 많이 우셔서 한쪽 눈의 시력이 잘 안 나오십니다.
제가 아무 장애 없이 이렇게 건강하고 아이까지 낳은 엄마라는 게 정말 신기할 뿐입니다. 제가 살아 있는 건 항상 애정으로 보살펴 주시는 엄마 덕분이라고 생각합니다. 우리 엄마가 저에게 그랬던 것처럼 저도 아이들에게 좋은 엄마가 되고 싶습니다.
