Preparing for life America.
Talk about preparing to live in the States.
My husband received a chance to train at a lab in the States. So, our family is preparing to live in the U.S. for two years. Our visit was delayed by two years because of the coronavirus. Our kids kept growing up during that time, and it made me anxious.
Our oldest daughter enters middle school next year. I worry whether she'sll be able to adjust to the new surroundings and keep up with classes in English.
What's more, the steep inflation these days measn that housing costs and the cost of living increased a lot. They say that living espenses are 1.5 times higher than before COVID-19. Plus, the exchange rate has also gone up.
As I readied myself for life in America, I decided that I needed to study English and took up "입트영". I must get ready for our move by preparing for all our various concerns.
남편이 미국에 있는 연구실에서 연수할 기회를 갖게 되었습니다. 그래서 우리 가족은 2년간 미국살이를 준비하고 있습니다. 우리의 방문은 코로나 때문에 2년 늦춰졌는데, 그 동안 아이들이 계속 커 가니 조바심이 났습니다.
첫째 딸은 내년에 중학교에 입학합니다. 아이가 새로운 환경에 잘 적응할 수 있을지, 영어로 학교 수업은 따라갈 수 있을지 걱정이 됩니다.
뿐만 아니라, 요즘 인플레이션이 극심해져서 주거 비용과 물가가 많이 올랐습니다. 코로나 이전보다 생활비가 1.5배 더 든다고 합니다. 게다가 환율도 많이 올랐지요.
미국 살이를 준비하면서, 저도 영어 공부를 해야겠다고 마음을 먹고 "입트영"을 시작했습니다. 여러 걱정거리들에 하나하나 잘 대비하여 미국행을 준배해야겠습니다.
