Talk about junior board systems.

I am a working mom. I have nearly 20 years of work experience. Generation gaps often cause conflicts at my job. These conflicts between generations usually occur because people can't fully understand each other. As the conflicts pile up, people think of each other as old-fashioned boomers or ill-mannered youngsters.

These days, public institutions are following the lead of private companies and operating junior board systems to address this problem. The company where I work is participating, too.

A junior board system establishes a board of directors. The board consist of young, hands-on workers no higher than a section manager. They gather to discuss various pressing matters for the company. A junior board comprise members from the MZ generation. Their role is to come up with original ideas to promote teamwork, share their thoughts, and communicate with others.

저는 워킹맘으로 직장 생활을 한지 20년이 다 되어 갑니다. 저희 회사에서는 세대 차이로 인한 갈등이 자주 일어납니다. 이러한 세대 간 갈등은 서로의 생각을 충분히 이해하지 못해서 발생하는 경우가 많습니다. 갈등이 쌓이면서 서로를 "고리타분한 꼰대"나 "버릇없는 요즘 것들"이라고 생각하게 되는 것이죠.

최근에 여러 공공기관에서는 민간 기업을 따라 주니어 보드 제도를 운영하며 문제에 대처하고 있습니다. 제가 다니는 회사도 마찬가지로 동참하고 있습니다.

주니어 보드 제도는 과장급 이하의 젊은 실무자들로 이루어진 중역 회의를 설치하는 것을 말합니다. 그들은 모여서 회사의 여러 시급한 문제들을 토론합니다. 주니어 보드는 MZ세대 직원들로 구성되는데, 그들의 역활은 협업을 장려할 수 있는 참신한 아이디어를 발굴하고, 다양한 생각을 나누고, 다른 사람들과 소통하는 것입니다.
