<본문>
I recently started studying up on the economy. I actually double-majored in business administration, and I once tried to earn a certificate related to finances. I studied economics at the time out of necessity, and because had a sense of purpose. But studying feels a lot more fun now that it's not to sit for an exam.
Our study group members select an economics book, and we show off how much we've studied each day on social media. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment when we finished our first book, which clocked in at over 600 pages.
I'm getting to know unfamiliar concepts through repeated readings. I sometimes surprise myself by searching for articles or YouTube videos about economic concepts that I had no interest in before. When my kids get a little older, I plan to subscribe to a children's financial newspaper and read it with them.
나는 최근에 경제 공부를 시작했다. 사실 경영학을 복수 전공했고, 한 때는 금융 관련 자격증을 취득하려고 도전해 본 적도 있다. 그 당시에는 필요와 목표 의식이 있어서 경제 공부를 했었다. 그러나 지금은 시험을 위한 공부가 아니라서 훨씬 더 재미있게 느껴진다.
우리 스터디 모임 회원들은 경제 서적을 한 권 정해서, 매일 얼마나 공부했는지 SNS에 인증을 하고 있다. 600 페이지가 넘는 첫 번째 책을 끝냈을 때는 정말 뿌듯했다.
낯설게 느껴졌던 개념들도 반복적으로 읽다 보니 점점 익숙해지고 있다. 예전에는 관심 없던 경제 개념들에 대해 관련 기사나 유튜브 영상을 찾아보는 내 모습이 가끔 신기하다. 아이들이 조금 더 크면 어린이 경제 신문을 구독해서 함께 읽어 볼 계획이다.
