Talk about why people drink coffee.
My parents drink a cup of joe every day. But I can't figure out why they enjoy such a bitter drink. I would like to try it for myself, but my mom says I can't because of the caffeine content. So, I gave some thought to why grown-ups drink coffee.
First, they drink coffee because of its distinctive aroma. I also enjoy the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Second, I think some people drink coffee just because it's what everyone is doing. I also think people keep going back to coffee because it's addictive. My mom says she started drinking java long after she became an adult.
Third, people drink coffee to wake themselves up. Most adults reach for coffee in the morning when they get out of bed, saying they need a pick-me-up. I think that effect is down to the caffeine in coffee.
어른들이 커피를 마시는 이유를 말해주세요.
우리 부모님은 매일 커피를 한 잔씩 드신다. 그런데 나는 그렇게 쓴 커피를 왜 즐겨 마시는지 잘 모르겠다. 나도 마셔 보고 싶은데 엄마가 카페인 함량 때문에 안 된다고 하신다. 그래서 나는 어른들이 커피를 마시는 이유에 대해 고민해 보았다.
첫째, 특유의 향 때문에 커피를 마신다. 갓 내린 커피에서 퍼지는 향은 나도 좋아한다. 둘째, 남들이 모두 마시니까 그냥 따라 마시는 사람들도 있을 것 같다. 우리 엄마는 어른이 되고도 한참 지나서 커피를 마시기 시작했다고 하신다.
셋째, 잠을 깨기 위해 커피를 마신다. 대부분의 어른들은 아침에 일어나서 잠에서 깨야겠다고 말하면서 커피를 찾는다. 커피에 들어 있는 카페인이 그러한 효과를 내는 것 같다.
