How trained dogs assist human lives.
Dogs are the pick of the litter among companion animals. They are great friends who have been by our side for ages. And some of them go above and beyond this relationship, aiding in the lives of human beings. When an apartment building collapsed at a construction site last January, we witnessed how rescue dogs can spring into action.
Using their keen sense of smell, dogs help to search for and rescue people in places that are hart to reach for human workers. Sniffer dogs are similarly active at airports. There are also therapy dogs that help people who are physically or emotionally ill. The dogs assist in emotional treatment for people suffering from depression or autism.
And of course, there are seeing eye dogs that help guide the visually impaired. For their owners, these dogs are precious friends. They may as well be family.
