Most car insurance policies offer emergency roadside assistance services. People use these services for various reasons.
The most common occasion is when the car battery goes flat. Leaving a light on in the car can drain the battery. When that happens, you can't start the ignition. A roadside service agent come and use jumper cables to jump start your car.
You can also request assistance when you get a flat or when you run out of fuel and need an emergency refill. Emergency roadside assistance is also useful if you lock yourself out of your car, or if you need to have it towed.
People mostly requested assistance over the phone in the past. But nowadays, you can conveniently make the request using a smartphone app.
