Self-maintenance.
I am 165cm tall, and I've kept my weight at aroud 52kg. Taking into cosideration that I was born in 1978, my level of self-maintenance is pretty good.
But I haven't been this way all my life. In fact, I've passed the 70kg mark four times. I was more into eating than studying in my senior year of high school, and I put on a lot of weight. I later lost 20kg during college.
Then I got married and had three kids. Each time, I weighed over 70kg in the last month of pregnancy. One spring day the year after I gave birth to our youngest, I looked in the mirror to find a chubby-looking middle-aged woman.
I couldn't stand for that anymore. Starting that very day, I gave up flour-based foods and signed up for Pilates classes. Now, I am even healthier than I was in my thirties.
자기 관리.
나는 키가 165센티미터이고, 체중은 52킬로그램 정도로 유지하고 있다. 1978년생인 것을 감안하면 비교적 자기 관리를 잘하고 있는 편이다.
그러나 평생 이렇게 관리를 잘해 온 것은 아니다. 사실 70킬로그램을 넘겨 본 것만 총 네번이었다. 고3 때는 공부보다 먹는 것에 관심이 더 많아서 살이 많이 쪘다가, 그 후에 대학 가서 20킬로그램을 감량했다.
그리고 나서 결혼을 하고 아이 셋을 출산했다. 임신 막달에는 매번 70킬로그램을 넘겼다. 막내를 출산하고 이듬해 어느 봄 날, 거울을 들여다 보니 통통한 중년의 아줌마가 있는게 아닌가.
더 이상은 그렇게 살기 싫었다. 바로 그날 부터 밀가루 음식을 끊고 필라테스 강좌에 등록했다. 지금은 30대 보다도 훨씬 더 건강하다.
