Korea is one of the countries in the world where bidets are most commonly used. Some people pay up to buy bidets, while others opt to rent them using long-term rental plans. In many new apartments these days, bidets are installed as standard. Lodging facilities like hotels or newly-built buildings very often have bidets installed in their restrooms as well.
From a foreigner's point of view, using a bidet might seem unfamiliar. But people who have used bidets sing their praises. First, it's very good for personal hygiene. Bidets also have heated seats, so it's nice and toasty when you move your bowels. Some people say that using bidets also helps cure constipation.

한국은 전 세계에서 비데 사용이 가장 보편화된 나라 중 하나이다. 비데를 구매해서 사용하는 사람들이 있는 반면, 장기 대여 서비스를 이용하는 사람들도 있다. 요즘 많은 신축 아파트의 경우, 기본 사양으로 비데가 설치되어 있다. 호텔과 같은 숙박 시설이나 신축 건물 화장실에도 비데가 설치되어 있는 경우가 매우 많다.
외국인들의 눈에는 비데 사용이 매우 생소하게 느껴질 수 있다. 그러나 비데를 사용해 본 사람들은 극찬을 한다. 개인 위생에 정말 큰 도움을 준다. 또한, 변기 의자가 따뜻해서 용변을 볼 때 기분이 좋다. 비데를 사용하면 변비 해소에 도움이 된다는 사람들도 있다.
