In the past, it was customary to use a desktop computer at home. But nowadays, laptops are taking the place of desktops. Laptops are convenient because they take up less space and you can use them anywhere. Most households have Wi-Fi access, so it's easier to use laptops. Plus, the latest models have high performance specs and high-res screens, so they are as effective as earlier desktops.
Most computer peripherals are also becoming wireless. This makes them easier to use. Many people use laptop stands on their desks. Some use keyboards and mouses that connect wirelessly to their laptops. Lots of people also hook up Bluetooth speakers to their laptops.

예전에는 가정에서 데스크톱 컴퓨터를 사용하는 것이 일반적이었다. 그러나 요즘에는 노트북이 이러한 데스크톱의 자리를 대처하고 있다. 노트북은 공간을 덜 차지하고 어디서든 사용이 가능해서 편리하다. 대부분의 가정에서 무선 인터넷 사용이 가능하므로, 노트북 사용이 더 용이하다. 더불어, 최신 노트북들은 고성능, 고화질이어서 예전 데스크톱에 버금가는 성능을 보여 주고 있다.
