<말하기 연습>
I've been subscribing to a print newspaper for four years. At first, I just skimmed through it. Some days, I didn't read it at all and tossed it out. But after a lot of trial and error, it has become part of my daily morning routine.
나는 4년째 종이 신문을 구독하고 있다. 처음에는 대충 눈으로만 읽거나 아예 읽지도 않고 그냥 버린 날도 많았지만, 시행착오를 거쳐 이제는 매일 아침 루틴으로 자리 잡았다.

With a paper newspaper, you are exposed to articles on all kinds of fields, and it's easier on the eyes. Plus, once you're done reading, the old papers come in handy around the house. I've also been doing a newspaper scrap project since March of last year. I summarize one article a day and write my thoughts about it on my blog.
종이 신문은 다양한 분야의 기사를 접할 수 있고 가독성이 좋다. 그리고 다 읽은 신문지는 가정에서 유용하게 쓰인다. 작년 3월부터 하루 1개씩 기사를 요약하고 거기에 대한 나의 생각을 블로그에 기록하는 신문 스크랩 활동도하고 있다.

Reading the newspaper regularly improves your reading comprehension and strengthens your knowledge base. Writing down your thoughts helps expand the way you think and broadens how you see the world. I hope more people will experience how reading a newspaper can strengthen both literacy and critical thinking.
꾸준히 신문을 읽으면 독해력이 좋아지고 배경지식도 풍부해진다. 생각을 글로 쓰면서 사고가 확장되어 세상을 보는 시야도 넓어진다. 문해력과 사고력을 키워 주는 신문 읽기를 더 많은 사람들이 경험해 봤으면 좋겠다.
