Running a 5K with My Child.
아이와 함께 뛴 5Km.

<말하기 연습>
My son isn't very athletic and doesn't like physical activities. I wanted to show him that you can still enjoy something even if you're not good at it. Around that time, I found out there was a 5K course in a local running event.
운동 신경이 부족해 몸 쓰는 것을 싫어하는 아들에게 저는 못해도 즐길 수 있다는 것을 보여주고 싶었습니다. 마침 지역의 한 달리기 대회에 5km 코스가 있다는 것을 알게 되었습니다.

I told him they give you a medal if you finish within an hour. That convinced him to sign up with me. He was nervous at first, but once he saw the festive atmosphere and other kids his age, he quickly got excited. He alternated between walking and running, and then sprinted at the very end to cross the finish line.
저는 1시간 안에만 들어오면 메달을 준다고 말하며 아이를 설득해 함께 출전했습니다. 처음에는 긴장하던 아이도 축제 같은 현장 분위기와 또래 친구들을 보며 금세 신이 났습니다. 걷다 뛰다를 반복하더니 막판에는 전력 질주를 해서 결승선을 통과했습니다.

He finished the course in 44 minutes. With a medal around his neck, he looked like he was on top of the world. I praised him for his endurance, and now he says he wants to start collecting medals. I plan to keep running with him, staying healthy together and turning it into a special family hobby.
아들은 44분 만에 코스를 완주했습니다. 메달을 건 아이는 세상을 다가진 듯 뿌듯한 모습이었습니다. 지구력이 좋다며 칭찬해 주었더니, 아들은 앞으로 메달 수집을 하고 싶다고 하네요. 앞으로도 아이와 함께 달리며 건강도 챙기고 가족의 특별한 취미로 만들어 갈 생각입니다.
