<말하기 연습>
Around the end of last October, I went hiking to see the autumn leaves. On my way down the mountain, I saw some bills lying on the ground. I quickly picked them up and unfolded them - it was 30,000 won. I looked around to see if anyone had just passed by, but there was no one.
지난해 10월 말쯤 단풍을 보러 산에 갔다. 그런데 산을 내려오다가 땅에 떨어져 있는 지폐를 발견하였다. 얼른 돈을 집어 펼쳐 보니 3만 원이었다. 방금 지나간 사람을 찾으려고 둘러보았으나 아무도 없었다.

So many thoughts ran through my mind in that instant. Should I splurge on a nice dinner? Buy a lottery ticket? Donate it somewhere? Should I just use it to buy some groceries for dinner?
바로 그 순간 수많은 생각들이 교차했다. 푸짐한 저녁 식사를 할까, 복권을 살까? 어디 기부를 할까? 아니면 저녁 찬거리를 좀 살까?

I kept thinking about it on the way home. In the end, I went to the police station and reported it. They told me that if no one claims it within six months, I could take ownership. But then I wondered, if I do get the money after six months, should I just donate it to charity? I never imagined 30,000 won could give me so much to think about.
집에 오는 동안 계속 그 생각을 하다가 결국 파출소에 가서 신고를 하였다. 6개월 동안 주인이 나타나지 않으면 소유권이 행사된다고 말했다. 그런데 6개월 후에 내가 그 돈을 받게 되면, 그냥 자선 단체에 기부해야 하나? 3만 원으로 이렇게 많은 고민을 하게 될 줄은 꿈에도 몰랐다.
