<말하기 연습>
I am a woman in my mid-50s with a daughter in her third year of middle school. We have traveled abroad together every year since she was six. However, most of the vivid memories she has about our trips are the times when we got lost.
나는 중학교 3학년 딸을 둔 50대 여성이다. 딸이 6살 때부터 매년 둘이서 해외여행을 다녀왔다. 그런데, 딸이 여행에 대해서 생생하게 기억하는 것이 대부분 우리가 길을 잃었던 상황들이다.

In Hong Kong, we couldn't find our hotel even though it was just around the corner, so we had to ask several people for directions. In Quebec, Canada, we had a hard time when the sun went down while looking for a filming location from the drama "Goblin."
홍콩에서는 지척에 있는 호텔을 못 찾아서 여러 사람들에게 길을 물어봐야 했다. 캐나다 퀘벡에서는 드라마 "도깨비" 촬영지를 찾다가 해가 져서 고생을 하기도 했다.

It's true. I have no sense of direction. Even with a navigation app on my phone, there are still many times when I have no idea where to go. Even now, when I drive to unfamiliar places, I can never find my way on the first try. My daughter has just accepted it.
그렇다. 나는 방향치, 길치이다. 휴대폰의 내비게이션 앱을 사용하는데도, 도저히 어디로 가야 하는지 알 수 없는 경우가 많다. 지금도 낯선 행선지로 운전할 때면 한 번에 찾아가는 적이 없다. 우리 딸은 이제 그러려니 한다.
