Overseas Trip for a Big Family.

<말하기 연습>
I am the eldest of four siblings, and my youngest brother is currently living in Japan. Thanks to the unprecedented weak yen and the close distance, we decided to plan a family trip to visit him.
저는 4남매의 장녀로 막내 동생은 현재 일본에서 거주 중입니다. 유례없는 엔저(엔화 약세)와 거리상 가까운 곳이어서, 막내가 있는 곳으로 가족 여행을 계획하기로 했습니다.

We are a large family of 11 people, including my parents in their 70s, my younger sister and her husband, two nephews, the children's single uncle, and my family of four. With my brother and his wife joining us locally, it would be a major event with 13 family members.
70대이신 부모님, 여동생 내외, 조카 2명, 싱글인 삼촌, 그리고 우리 가족 넷을 합치니 11명이나 되는 대가족이었습니다. 현지에서 남동생 내외까지 합류하면 13명의 가족이 함께하는 큰 이벤트가 될 것입니다.

Since our group includes men and women of all ages, there were many preparations to make. First, we needed to rent cars, so some of us prepared international driving permits. Second, we gathered basic medications and the presciption meds we were taking. Lastly, we signed up for short-term travel insurance and completed our preparations.
그야말로 남녀노소의 집단이다 보니 준비할 것들이 참 많았습니다. 먼저, 차를 렌트해야 해서 일부 가족들은 국제 운전면허증을 준비했습니다. 두 번째로, 기본적인 약들과 복용 중인 처방약들을 챙겼습니다. 마지막으로, 단기 여행자 보험에 가입하고 준비를 마쳤습니다.

As with any trip, we expect some ups and downs, but we believe it will be a memorable experience and pray for a safe journey.
모든 여행이 그렇듯이 우여곡절이 있을 것으로 예상하지만, 잊지 못할 추억이 될 거라고 생각하며 안전한 여행을 기도하고 있습니다.

A: 그래도 여행 준비는 항상 설레는 것 같아요.
B: 맞아요, 아이들도 첫 해외여행이라 무척 기대하고 있어요.
