Kindergarten Field Days. 유치원 운동회.

<말하기 연습>
After being put on hold for a while due to COVID-19, our children's kindergarten held its first field day in three years. The grass field that was the venue for the event was decked with bunting that waved in the wind. The decorations also included balloons with cartoon characters that the children like. The field day began with an opening declaration. Many games were played, including obstacle courses, ball throwing, and tug-of-war.
코로나 19로 인해 한동안 취소되었던 아이들 유치원 운동회가 3년 만에 처음 개최되었다. 운동회 장소인 잔디 구장에서는 만국기 장식이 바람에 휘날리고 있었다. 운동회는 개회 선언과 함께 시작되었다. 장애물 넘기, 공 던지기, 줄다리기 등 많은 게임을 했다.

There was a lot of parent participation in the gaems because the children are so young. Especially during the dads' track race, the dads made everyone's jaws drop by running full tilt. I guess they got pumped up with their families watching.
아이들이 너무 어리다 보니 학부모 참여 경기가 제법 많았다. 특히 아빠 달리기 시합에서, 아빠들의 전력 질주하는 모습에 모든 사람들의 입이 떡 벌어졌다. 가족들이 보고 있으니 더욱 의욕이 샘솟은 듯했다.

The relay race was the highlight of the field day. My daughter was chosen as a representative for the 6-year-old relay team, and she ran with all her might, carrying her baton. I was amazed at how fast she was. I have always been the worst at running, but my daughter was the complete opposite.
계주 경기는 운동회의 하이라이트였다. 우리 딸은 6살 팀의 계주 대표로 뽑혀 바통을 들고 열심히 뛰었다. 아이가 얼마나 빨리 달리는지 나는 깜짝 놀랐다. 나의 달리기 실력은 늘 꼴등이었는데, 우리 딸은 정반대였다.

B: 맞아요. 그런데 저는 오늘 다리가 좀 아프네요. 너무 무리해서 뛰었나 봐요.
