My First Marathon. 나의 첫 마라톤.
My husband went to see a doctor about three years ago, and was told to avoid high-intensity exercise. We were mulling over what kind of exercise we could do, when an acquaintance got us into marathons for the first time. At first, we couldn't even run 1km. But we have put in a lot of hard work since then, and now we can breeze through a 10km run almost every morning.
3년 전쯤 남편이 병원에 갔는데, 과격한 운동을 피하라는 말을 들었다. 그래서 우리는 무슨 운동을 할까 고민하다가, 지인으로부터 마라톤을 소개받아서 처음 시작하게 되었다. 초반에는 1킬로미터도 못 뛰었다. 그러나 그 이후로 꾸준히 노력해서 지금은 거의 매일 아침 10킬로미터를 거뜬히 뛸 수 있다.
We once signed up for a competitive marathon together. My husband posted a time of 1:49:01 for the half marathon. I crossed the finish line for the 10km run in 1:00:08. It wasn't an entirely satisfactory resul, but we felt like we had really made strides.
같이 마라톤 대회에 참가를 한 적도 있는데, 남편은 하프 마라톤에서 1:49:01초를 기록했다. 나는 10킬로미터 코스에서 1:00:08초에 결승선을 통과했다. 아주 만족스러운 결과는 아니었지만, 우리는 일취월장한 기분이었다.
We was a lot of moving sights during the marathon. We saw a couple running the 10km together along with their baby in a stroller. We also saw a man with a handicap running side by side with his daughter, their arms tied together with a rope.
마라톤을 하는 동안 여러 감동적인 장면을 보았다. 한 부부가 아기를 태운 유모차를 끌고 함께 10킬로미터를 달리는 모습을 보았다. 그리고 장애인 아빠와 그의 딸이 함께 끈으로 묶고 나란히 달리는 모습도 보았다.
