For three years afteer graduating from college, I tried to find work as an announcer or broadcast journalist. But I failed to make the cut on 150 employment exams. Then, my health took a downturn, and I couldn't work for another 3 years.
저는 대학 졸업 후 3년간 아나운서나 방송 기자로 취업하기 위해 노력했습니다. 그런데 입사 시험에서 150번 낙방했습니다. 그러고는 건강이 안 좋아져서, 그 후 또 3년간 일을 하지 못했습니다.
I first lended a job at a small company when I was well over 30 years old. I put in my best effort to produce the highest quality in all my work. I threw myself into my work as if to make up for the years when I couldn't, even though I wanted to. It was exitingm and I had a great time. And when I felt like I had done everything I could at that company, I decided to leave my job.
서른을 훌쩍 넘긴 나이에 조그만 회사에 처음 취직했습니다. 저는 맡은 일에서 항상 최상의 퀄리티를 내려고 열심히 노력했습니다. 일하고 싶어도 할 수 없었던 지난 세월을 만회라도 하듯 업무에 전념했고, 신나고 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 그 회사에서 할 만큼 했다고 느꼈을 때, 퇴사를 결심했습니다.
A week from now, I will be starting a new job at a different company. They made me an offer of a four-fold increase over the first monthly paycheck I received at my previous job. I'm sure there will be many ups and downs in my life to com. But I will be sure to remain grateful, bearing in mind the 6 years when I couldn't do anything at all.
