Balcony Vegetable Gardens.
Raising and looking after something is never easy. Based on my experience of raising flowers over the years, this year I pushed myself to create a vegetable garden on my balcony.
I decided to grow lettuce seedlings, which are easy to grow and give you good bang for your buck. I also chose strawberries, even though they're not as cost-effective, because my daughter likes them. I thought that I would only need to water the plants every morning, and make sure they got plenty of sun. But for the plnats to grow well, I also had to wage war on various pests like root flies and aphids.
The lettuce and strawberries grew quickly. We were able to get a taste of small but sweet and sour strawberries. It was also a chance for my daughter to enjoy showing off to her friends, through a hands-on learning project.
베란다 텃밭.
무엇이든 키우고 돌본다는 것은 결코 쉬운 일이 아니다. 나는 오랫동안 화초를 키우던 경험을 바탕으로 올해 야심차게 베란다에 텃밭을 만들었다.
키우기 수월하고 가성비가 높은 상추 모종을 심기로 결정했다. 그리고 가성비는 떨어지지만 우리 딸이 좋아하는 딸기 모종도 선택했다. 나는 매일 아침마다 식물에 물을 주고 햇빛만 충분히 쬐어 주면 될 거라고 생각했다. 하지만 식물이 잘 자라게 하기 위해서는 뿌리파리와 진딧물 같은 여러 해충과 전쟁도 치러야 했다.
상추와 딸기는 무럭무럭 잘 자랐다. 우리는 작지만 새콤달콤한 딸기를 맛볼 수 있었다. 게다가 딸아이가 체험 학습 과제를 통해 친구들에게 자랑하는 기쁨도 누릴 수 있는 기회가 되었다.
