More than ever, people these days seem to want to gain a better understanding of themselves. That's way they often take psychological tests. People often ask each other about their exam results. Even grade school students take simple MBTI exams. The desire to get to know oneself is becomming a previling trend.
A positive aspect of these mental exam is that they help us wrap our heads around how we're all different. This enables us to avoid conflict and get along with each other more easily. The downside is that people make conclusions about their own personality and expect others to simply accept it. I hope that these psychological exams will be used for their intended purpose to better understand oneself and to grow as a person.
그 어느 때보다 요즘 사람들은 자신을 더 잘 이해하고 싶어 하는 것 같다. 그래서 심리 검사를 많이 받는다. 사람들 간에 검사 결과를 서로 물어보는 경우도 많다. 심지어 초등학생들도 간단한 MBTI 검사를 받는다ㅏ. 자신을 이해하고자 하는 열망은 점점 보편적인 트렌드가 되어 가고 있다.
이러한 심리 검사의 긍정적인 면은 우리가 모두 어떻게 다른지 이해하는 데 도움이 된다는 것이다. 이는 우리가 서로 갈등을 피하고 더 잘 어울릴 수 있게 해 준다. 단점은 사람들이 자신의 성격을 단정 짓고 타인이 그저 이해해 주길 바란다는 것이다. 이러한 심리 검사가 본래의 취지대로 자신을 더 잘 이해하고 성숙해지기 위한 도구로 쓰이길 바란다.
