Talk about annual passes for theme parks.
As the father of young kids in the COVID ear, there weren't many options to choose from for family outings. I was on edge wherever we went becuase younger children under 2 years old couldn't even wear masks. So, after giving it some thought, my wife and I chose outdoor theme park. To be honest, the kids were just an excuse. I wanted to go myself.
Our family went all out and got annual passes. At first, we went almost every week. I enjoyed speding time with my kids, and they felt the same way.
We went on the rides a lot at first, but eventually we visited the zoo and gardens more often. With an annual pass, we didn't have to worry about getting our money's worth. That helped us to relax, and to take in the changing seasons.
코로나 시대에 어린 자녀를 둔 아버지가 가족 나들이를 위해 선택할 수 있는 장소는 많지 않았다. 특히 2세 미만의 유아는 마스크를 쓸 수도 없었기 때문에 어디를 가도 불안했다. 그래서 고민 끝에 아내와 나는 야외 놀이공원을 선택했다. 솔직히 말하면, 아이는 핑계에 불과했고 나도 가고 싶었다.
우리 가족은 큰 맘 먹고 연간 이용권을 끊었다. 처음에는 거의 매주 갔다. 나는 아이들과 함께 시간을 보내는 것이 즐거웠고, 마찬가지로 아이들도 무척 좋아했다.
초반에는 놀이 기구를 많이 탔지만, 나중에는 동물원이나 정원을 더 많이 갔다. 연간 이용권이니 본전을 뽑아야 한다는 걱정을 할 필요도 없었다. 그러다 보니 여유가 생겼고, 계절에 따른 변화도 만끽할 수 있었다.

We went all out and got a car with all the options. 우리는 큰 맘 먹고 차를 풀 옵션으로 구입했다.
I don't shop a lot, but when I do I go all out. 나는 쇼핑을 자주 하지는 않지만, 한 번 하면 아주 제대로 한다.
3. get one's meney's worth 본전을 뽑다.
You shouldn't overeat just to get your money's worth. 본전을 뽑겠다고 과식을 하면 안된다.
It was an expensive resort, so I wanted to get my money's worth. 비싼 리조트여서 나는 본전을 뽑고 싶었다.
