I am an ordinary office-goer with a 31-year-old son and a 29-year-old daughter. On January 9th of this year, in the thick of the coronavirus pandemic, my daughter tied the knot. It was a trying situation in many ways, but my daughter and son-in-law were resolute. During middle school, my daughter signed a written promise to my wife and me that she would forgo marriage and live with us her whole life. But the years passed, she met a nice guy, and the document became just a piece of scrap paper.
We were worried about all sorts of things, but the wedding went off without a hitch. My daughter is now living happily with her other half. They will surely face hardships in the future, but I hope they will continue to respect and understand each other.
저는 31살 아들과 29살 딸을 둔 평범한 직장인입니다. 올해 1월 9일 코로나가 한창인 와중에 저희 딸이 결혼을 했습니다. 여러 가지로 어려운 상황이었지만, 딸과 사위는 의지가 확고했습니다. 저희 딸은 중학교 때 저와 아내에게 결혼을 하지 않고 평생 같이 살겠다고 각서를 쓰기도 했습니다. 그러나 세월이 흘러 좋은 남자를 만나더니, 각서는 휴지 조각이 되어 버리고 말았습니다.
